Before you ask me where I've been I will tell you. I have been visiting my cousins who have no internet and some other stuff. That and I haven't had any ideas for blog posts. This Friday I will be leaving my lovely home land and going to Indonesia once again. Once there I will not be posting very regularly because I have a bit of schoolwork waiting for me. I would really like to know what you have been doing though, so please leave a comment. Before I close this post I would just like to raise awareness of three South African bands I really like. The first is Prime Circle. They do sing in English so that helps for those of you who don't speak Afrikaans. The second band is Straatligkinders. They are kinda heavy metal-y so they're not everybody's type. And the third is Die Heuwels Fantasties. Please go and check these bands out! I really like them and I'm sure you will too!!

One of my favorite TV series is Chuck. I don't know if any of you watch it but if you don't then you should probably start watching it.
This is what it's about:

Chuck Bartowski accidentally downloaded an Intersect ( it is something that can show you information that you have not learnt) into his brain. Because of this the CIA decided to take him on and train him as a spy. It's hard to explain exactly what the Intersect is but it isn't magic, it's data. Chuck's father ( CIA) invented it. His mother is also CIA and has been missing since Chuck was 9. He tries to find her and then get's himself into a bit of trouble.

I have only seen the third and fourth season but I absolutly love it! It does have some sexual refferences but it's worth watching.

Hope you love it too!

Hi there! I now it's been a while but I've kinda had writer's block. Anyway what have you been up to? I came home for a visit and so far I have done absolutely nothing but spend time with my grand-parents. I am my mom's parents only grand-child so it's nice to spend time with them. I just wanted to write something since I was about to tell someone else to post something and then I remembered that I haven't posted in a while either.

Have a great summer!!

This is one of my favorite dance performances. The dancers are Ellenore and Jakob ( I don't know their last names) from season 6 of  So You Think You Can Dance. I wish I could dance like this!! Tell me what you think!

Micro Expressions

A Micro Expressions "...is a brief, involuntary facial expression shown on the face of humans according to emotions experienced. They usually occur in high-stakes situations, where people have something to lose or gain. Unlike regular facial expressions, it is difficult to fake microexpressions. Microexpressions express the seven universal emotions: disgust, anger, fear, sadness, happiness, surprise, and contempt. However in the 1990s Paul Ekman expanded this list of basic emotions, including a range of positive and negative emotions not all of which are encoded in facial muscles. These emotions are amusement, contempt, embarrassment, excitement, guilt, pride, relief, satisfaction, pleasure, and shame. They are very brief in duration, lasting only 1/25 to 1/15 of a second". - Wikipedia

I didn't know how to explain it so I enlisted the help of Wikipedia. You also have gestures that can be a sign that you are lying and the pitch of your voice also gives away your emotions.

Cool, huh?

One more thing to add to my career list.

The Study of Micro Expressions: I find this very interesting and I think this is on the top of my list.

How am I going to pay for this without getting a loan?? And no I can't get a job because I don't stay in a place long enough to be able to keep one. Help. Please.

Hello there! I though that maybe my two readers could help me out with one ( of  my many) questions; What will my profession be?

Here are some of my choices:

Doctor: No surgical stuff just treating simple things.

Psycologist: I like human behaviour.

Private Fashion Stylist: I do love fashion!!

Make-Up Artist: Love make-up!

These are some professions that I am thinking of but tell me if you can think of anything else and/or which one you think I would be more suited to.

People say growing up is what you are supposed to do, but what about staying young forever? Who wants to grow up when you can be a kid? No responsibilities, no demands, no worrying about the future, nothing but playing and wondering when you next meal will be ( and if mom is going to give you something truly awful, like tuna). Couldn't we just be left alone to be young and naughty and wacky? Years ago kids my age (almost 14) would climb trees and play make-belief games. Could you imagine what it would be like to actually still be considered a kid at age 14 in our days? It doesn't seem possible.

Adults say you have to grow up sometime, I know this but do we have to become the President fresh out of Junior High? I don't want to be a kid for the rest of my life, but I don't want to be all grown up at ( almost) 14. How boring would that be? You're going to wear high heels for the rest of your life! You don't have to wear them now. It's the same thing with make-up, short dresses/skirts and boys. Be a kid and enjoy the freedom while you have it.

This is Tiggamooi ! She is really cute but don't be fooled by the way she looks! She may look like an angel but she has really sharp claws and needle like teeth. And she is really naughty!! Tell me what you think of her.

Movie Help 2

I am adding to my list of movies to watch or not to watch.

1. While You Were Sleeping - Funny but does have some suggestive language.

2. Win A Date With Tad Hamilton - Also very funny but again it contains suggestive language.

3. The Devil Wears Prada - Seen it soooooo many times but I abolutly LOVE it!

4. The Tourist - Hilarious!! - It does use the "F" word so if you are sensitve to language then maybe watch it with someone who has already seen it so that they can mute the sound at those points.

5. Mao's Last Dancer - Really good movie! Its not funny but the dancing is really good.

Quick question, has anyone seen The Chaos Theory, According to Greta, Raising Arizona, or Lost In Translation?

Even heroes fall down

And mountains won't last forever

But Your promise never fails

When the ocean is raging

I find stillness in Your presence

And I lift my voice to say

'Jesus take me away!

[CHORUS]

Carry me on your back

Through the storm, Lord!

Carry me on your back

Through the storm, Lord! '

When the furnace is burning

I know rescue is coming

Your promise never fails

In the darkness Your light shines

Breaking over the horizon

And I lift my eyes to see

Heaven's fighting for me

[CHORUS]

'Carry me on your back

Through the storm, Lord!

Carry me on your back

Through the storm, Lord! '

Waking up in the arms of love

I'll be singing, singing a new song

Waking up in the arms of love

I'll be singing, singing a new song

Carry me on your back

Through the storm, Lord!

Carry me on your back

Through the storm, Lord!

This is one of my newest favorite songs by Leeland called Carry Me On Your Back.
It makes me think of the eagle's wings covering her young. I like to be reminded of things because i do forget and doubt. This reminds me God is here, carrying me. Sorry for complaining about life recently, I am going to remove that post as soon as I have posted this one.

Love you guys lots!

Life became a little bit better. We got a kitten!! My dad brought her home from work because he was scared she was going to be run over. She is a tortoise shell and she has this cute little patch of white on her tummy that makes it look like she's wearing a nappy. We are thinking of naming her Tiggamooi ( she jumps like Tigger and she is pretty so Mooi which means beautiful in Afrikaans). We are becoming moe used to everything now so it's not THAT bad anymore. I still can't stand the internet or the ants that descend on everything outside the fridge. My parents and I are planning to play tennis tomorrow and maybe make Melk Tert ( this is one of my family's favorite desserts). Miss you all alot!!

Yesterday I landed in the quite different island of Indonesia. In my short time here I have discovered that I like it very much!! It is warm but not as hot as what I expected ( I am not sweating/ glowing so its not so bad). The people are very friendly even if they can't understand you and visa verse. The etiquette is complicated and I am very confused about what I am supposed to do and not do, for instance greeting with the right hand only and not showing your shoulders, etc.Traffic is hectic! There are a million and one motorcycles who drive anywhere they want to and don't look where they are going! I would not want to drive here at all!! I went to the mall today and was quite surprised to find out that they have a christian music shop here!! The store sells most of the popular christian bands and local ones as well. I have a feeling that I am going to enjoy living here.

Lots of love!!

Hello there!! I miss my internet soooooo much! I won't be able to be "The Thinker" in this post ( yes I know, it's so sad!). Just wanted to leave something for you to read so you don't have to read the same post over and over. It may not be exciting but it is at least something! And it is also evidence that the cow jumping over the moon doesn't post more than me! I hope I'll be able to post more regularly but for now I am saying goodbye!!

Oh and by the way, I did not post this at 11:15 pm ( incase you were wondering what I was doing awake at such an hour. If you weren't then just forget i mentioned it)

I'm back to my computer after what seems like forever!! In my absence I have glimpsed absolutely nothing except for clouds and some of the complexity of human behaviour and life. Looking at the rest of the people around me I can safely say that they are some of the hardest subjects to study. Being one of them doesn't help me at all. One of the things that are slightly mystifying to me is our complete oblivion to the way we treat others. I know that not everyone does this but it seems to me that we can see the splinter in someone else's eye but not the log in our own. I am not a specialist in human behaviour but I have my hunches to why this happens to even the best of us. Here are some of them:

1. We want to see the worst in others to make us feel better about ourselves ( like in bullying cases)

2. We can't handle the fact that the average person is not better than the average person and that we really need to treat others the same as what we would treat ourselves.

3. We convince ourselves that whatever we are doing or not doing is different to what another person is doing or not doing, when actually they are in the same category.

I have now run out of hunches and my Internet meter is running wild. On this note I bid you farewell and hopefully I will be back soon with something more exciting than this.

P.S. Please tell me if I said something wrong or misinforming in the post. It will be greatly appreciated!!

Security Shield warning

Does anyone know anything about Security Shield? it appeared on my computer a couple of days ago and I can't get rid of it. Any ideas would be most welcomed!! I just want to take a minute to warn all of my followers ( all two of you!!) not to download anything that has to do with Security Shield as it is extremely annoying and could be harmful to your health and the health of the computer ( as it makes you so mad you would give anything to throw your computer across the room).

Movie Help

These past couple of weeks I watched a million and one movies!! I now have a pretty god idea of what movies are worth watching and which ones aren't. i have decided to make a list to help you , next time you go to the DVD store, to pick the right movie.

1.Flipped - This movie is a "girl meets boy" kind of movie. There is no swearing, no inappropriate content ( except for some suggestive language) and has good humor.

2. Believe In Me - Sporty, funny and family friendly. If you like good triumphing over bad, inspiring, or based on real life event genres then this would be a really good movie to watch!

3. Secondhand Lions - Funny, no vulgar language and has a good plot. Adventure , romance and some mystery all mixed in one great movie!!

4. RV - Family friendly and very funny!!

5. Johnny English - This is hilarious!! Only has one scene that has some suggestive language.

6. The gods must be crazy - Also very funny and quite appropriate. Worst scene is were someone is getting undressed and you see them in their underwear but that is it.

7. The gods must be crazy 2 - Family friendly and funny!!

8. Yours, mine, and ours - Makes you laugh but has some suggestive language and kissing.

9. Leap Year - Puts a smile on your face but has serious kissing ( only on one spot) and has suggestive language that might not be appropriate for children under 13.

10. Any of the Chronicles of Narnia - Adventurous and funny without being over the top.

Movies that should be off limits:

1. Georgia Rules - Extreme sexual content and swearing.

2. Just one of the guys - Extreme sexual content.

3. Greenfingers - Alot of swearing and inappropriate content.

For now these are some of the movies I would recomend to/not to watch. I hope this was useful and that you enjoy your next movie!
